Face-to-face, in-office meetings in Williamsburg, Hampton, or Chesapeake, Virginia:

Genesis Counseling Center. Many insurances are accepted for face-to-face counseling. I do not provide counseling through Genesis any longer, but I highly recommend them as a wonderful resource for therapy. If you live in one of those areas, please call them.

On-line counseling:

Much research has been done showing the usefulness of email and online therapy. After having been a therapist since 1997, I believe there is much to be gained from offering online therapy. Many are not able to leave their homes due to illnesses, many live in rural areas where traditional therapy is not available, and many Christians cannot find Biblically-based Christian therapy in their local areas.

Given that, I am also offering online counseling, either via email or telephone, for clients who cannot come to the Williamsburg, Virginia office for face-to-face therapy. (Due to conflict of interest issues with Genesis, I will not be offering online counseling for clients who live within an hour's drive of a Genesis office in Williamsburg, Hampton, or Chesapeake, Virginia).

If you believe on-line counseling may be helpful for you, please contact me directly at We can discuss the pros and cons, and determine if it is a good fit for your needs.

Unfortunately, insurance companies will not pay for sessions which are not face-to-face, so this service must be limited to self-pay. The advantage is that I can serve clients from anywhere in the world.

The following fees apply to services listed. If there is some other arrangement you would prefer, we can discuss options.

The first detailed therapeutic email* is free.

Individual therapeutic emails = $15.00
Five therapeutic emails = $60.00

* A "therapeutic email" is an email that offers genuine therapeutic counseling for a therapeutic issue, and will typically be at least 2-3 paragraphs, and often more. Five short emails addressing therapeutic issues, less than an average paragraph, constitute one therapeutic email. Emails will be responded to within 24 hours, or will not be counted against your total. Administrative emails where we are discussing scheduling, collecting demographic information, etc., are not therapeutic, and are therefore not charged for.

45 minutes = $35

*Family of clients - Due to legal restrictions,
I cannot return your calls or emails without the client's
written permission. Also, to maintain the trust of my client, I will
have to tell them you have contacted me.

Note: There are occasions when an e-mail may get lost in cyberspace. I answer all e-mails where confidentiality is not an issue, so please, if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, e-mail me again. Persistence will get you through.
