I regret to say that I will no longer be accepting clients in the Waldorf area for face-to-face therapy. I have closed my practince here and moved to Williamsburg, Virginia as of June 29th. If your preference is for face-to-face therapy, or you need to be able to use your insurance, please feel free to check out the listing of Christian therapists I know of in the area here. I pray you each find just the right person to help you with whatever struggles you might have.

If, on the other hand, you are willing to pay out of pocket and would consider doing therapy via email or Skype, then please click here for how I might be able to help you.

All of my on-line resources are now available here. God bless, Sue

Mental Health Therapy

Open Heart Christian Counseling is a Biblically-based Mental Health therapy service offered in the Waldorf, Maryland and surrounding areas. My name is Sue McHenry, and I am a licensed Mental Health therapist for the state of Maryland. It is my passion to use the Word of God to help clients make life changes that will get them where they want to go in life. The wisdom and guidance of Jesus Christ form the basis for therapy, and the Holy Spirit and the client are the experts in the client's life. My role is to facilitate that work and allow the Holy Spirit to work through me to communicate God's Word to the client. I feel humbled and privileged to be able to exercise my gifts in the service of His saints.

Please browse around my web-site for information that will help you make an informed and comfortable decision about whether or not I would be able to help you with your current situation. My desire is for all of God's people to get the help they need to develop their lives in a way that honors and blesses Him. If you feel I would be able to play some part in that process for you, then please get in touch with me to set up an appointment. At the end of that appointment, we can decide together if we will be the best team for the work you want to do.

The following is a brief description of what I do:

1) Individual therapy with adults, seniors, men, women. I do not treat children, adolescents, couples, or families.
2) Therapist-led groups. Click here for details.
3) Group training / Retreats.
4) Professional Consultation

If you believe the above list does not meet your need, then feel free to check out my list of phone numbers here. (Note: these are not referrals because I know nothing of them or their practice. These are just phone numbers for your convenience, sort of like a targeted yellow pages.)
