CILe - Client Information Ledger
Sessions needing claims

How does CILe help me determine which sessions still need claims?

If your client starts off with insurance where claims can be submitted and you are doing your own administrative work, this should never be a problem. Your claims will be submitted automatically each time you create a session note.

However, there are a few of situations where this may not be the case.

  1. Authorization for visits is delayed but backdated.
  2. A client receives insurance, and the start date is before some sessions that have already been documented.
  3. Your Administrative Assistant had ownership of the data during a time when you documented some session notes.
  4. You have checked the "resubmit claims" checkbox on the session note.

To determine which sessions are still in need of claims to be created, go to the "Sessions with No Claims Submitted" screen.

You access the "Sessions with No Claims Submitted" screen off of the Fiscal menu.

Review the items on this listing. If you believe it is accurate, click the "Create Electronic Claims" button and any sessions that pass validation and have their "File Electronic" box checked will be created, and their name will be removed. Any sessions where this is not the case, will remain on this listing for further review. If a client does not have the "File Electronic" box checked but you want to submit a paper HCFA 1500 claim for them, then you can right-click their name on this listing and choose "HCFA Claim Form" off of the client pop-up menu. Once you complete that process, their name will not appear on this listing the next time you display it.
