| Resubmitting an Electronic Claim | ![]() |
There are occasions when you need to resubmit a claim to an insurance company. This could happen because they don't acknowledge receiving your first claim, or they erroneously denied it, or you now have authorization you didn't have the first time, or whatever. CILe makes resubmitting the claim electronically as easy as submitting it the first time.
There are two ways to resubmit claims: either check the
appropriate boxes on the individual session notes, or select several sessions
off of a single screen and create them all at once.
Resubmitting a claim for a single session note:
The circle in the lower left shows that this claim has been previously submitted, and was transferred to the clearinghouse on November 25th, 2008. To submit this claim again, simply check the appropriate checkboxes in the upper right-hand circle area. You can specify that the claim be submitted with either the primary or secondary insurance companies. When you save the session note, the new electronic claim will be created, and will be transmitted the next time you generate the Excel file and upload it to your clearinghouse.
To resubmit claims for a list of sessions, CILe provides a listing of your sessions with the resubmit checkboxes to make that process simpler:
First, click the "Claim Stop or Resubmit" item off of the Client pop-up menu for the client who's claims you want to resubmit.
Then, for the session notes that need to be resubmitted, click the appropriate checkbox under either the primary or secondary column.
Go to the "Sessions with No Claims Submitted" item off of the Fiscal Menu. Although these sessions did have claims submitted at one point, they are now in need to have claims submitted again, so they will show up on this listing.
Click the "Create Electronic Claims" button above, and CILe will create claims for each of the five sessions listed here.
